GUY J – 19th July @ New Guernica

Guy J @ New Guernica July 19th 2013

One of the most popular and in demand DJ’s on the international circuit is finally heading back to Melbourne for a club show! Guy j needs no introduction: he’s one of the main acts in John Digweed’s Bedrock stable and he is renowned for his emotional and melancholic sets that somehow still manage to sound energetic and dance floor driven. When we hosted Guy last year we knew it would be a big night, but we never could have imagined how BIG that night was going to turn out. Guy delivered one of the best sets that we had the pleasure of hearing and everyone walked away invigorated by the musical magic that Guy delivered. Those who were at Rainbow Serpent Festival this year to experience 3+ hours of Guy closing the Market Stage -playing to 7000 + people- can attest to witnessing a true artist in full flight. It’s hard to believe that Guy J has never released a mix compilation before, but is there a better fit for Guy than a Balance compilation? Yes, Balance has tapped Guy on the shoulder for his debut mix compilation which has had the dance music world buzzing since the news was dropped. We expected something special from Guy for this mix but he has blown all expectations out of the water with an expertly crafted mix that will go down as one of the best in the Balance series. This event has all the trademarks to be the party of the year: Guy has a special relationship with Melbourne and there is no better way to celebrate this with the launch of Guy’s debut mix compilation on a Melbourne home grown brand and institution: Balance Series. We are expecting this to be a sell out so you would be advised to get in early; we will be sparing no expense in ensuring this goes down as one of our best ever, and with Guy J in the house to celebrate his Balance launch with a 4 hour + set, you can rest assured that this will be ONE SUPER SPECIAL NIGHT.
